FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to electroplating metallic coatings on steel for protection from corrosion. The electrolyte contains the following in g/l: cadmium sulphate 40-60, sulphuric acid 20-40, starch extract 10-15, N,N'-bis(2-oxy-1- naphthilydene)-n-chloroaniline nickel chelate 0.7-1.5, α-toluic aldehyde 0.5-1.0.
EFFECT: reduced hydrogenation of steel, which leads to hydrogen brittleness during cadmium plating and reduced metal ductility.
