FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing vanadium alloys billets includes homogenization, repeated thermomechanical treatment by plastic deformation and subsequent annealing, stabilizing annealing in vacuum, diffusion alloying with oxygen by heat treatment in air and vacuum annealing and final stabilizing heat treatment. Homogenization is carried out at 1000-1500°C for 1 hour, thermo-mechanical treatment is carried out in three cycles by deformation with reduction of iron ε=30-50% and annealing at 450-700°C for 1 hour, stabilizing annealing in vacuum is carried out at 1000°C for 1 hour. At the diffusion alloying with oxygen, the heat treatment in air is carried out at a temperature not higher than 700°C, and vacuum annealing is carried out at temperature of 450-1000°C, then vacuum annealing is carried out at temperature of 1000-1500° C, deformation processing at room temperature to the value of true logarithmic deformation e≥1, and the final stabilizing heat treatment is carried out at 700-1200°C for 1 hour.
EFFECT: increased thermal stability of the microstructure and mechanical properties of vanadium alloys.
