FIELD: radiation materials science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radiation materials science and can be used in technological cycles for the production of semi-finished vanadium-based alloys used as structural materials in nuclear fission and synthesis reactors with different types of coolants. The method for processing a workpiece made of vanadium alloys of the V-Cr-Ta-Zr system includes homogenizing annealing, repeated thermomechanical processing by deformation by rolling at room temperature with compression ε=30-50% and annealing at a temperature of 450-700°C for 1 hour, stabilizing vacuum annealing, subsequent diffusion alloying with oxygen by first heat treatment of the workpiece in air in the temperature range 450-700°C for a duration of 1 to 30 minutes and then annealing in a vacuum of 2×10-5 Torr at a temperature of 450-1000°C for the time required for absorption oxygen of the oxide film with a surface layer of vanadium alloy and the final stabilizing heat treatment in vacuum at a temperature of 1000-1200°C. Diffusion alloying with oxygen is carried out in at least three stages, alternating with deformation treatment by rolling at room temperature with compression ε=10–20%.
EFFECT: obtaining high values of heat resistance and heat resistance of vanadium alloys.
