FIELD: measuring devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation and can be used in the development of devices designed to measure capacitors electric capacity and capacitor sensors of various process parameters (level, pressure, displacement, etc.). Method of measuring the electrical capacitance consists in recording the charging time of the measured capacitor after supplying a constant voltage through a resistor until the voltage threshold is reached on the measured capacitor beforehand. In this case, after connecting the capacitor of the sample capacitor in series with the known capacitance, the charge time of these capacitors is again measured, without changing the value of the resistance of the resistor, the voltage of the charging source and the previously accepted threshold voltage value on the plates of these capacitors, and the measured capacitance is calculated by the formula where CO – capacitance of the sample capacitor; t1 – charge time of a capacitor with a measured capacitance CX to the previously accepted threshold voltage value on its plates; t2 – time of chain charge from series-connected capacitors CX and CO to the previously accepted threshold voltage value on their plates.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase of the accuracy in measuring the electrical capacity.
