FIELD: test and measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation and can be used to measure capacitance of capacitors and capacitor sensors of various process parameters (level, pressure, displacement and so on). Method of electrical capacity measurement is based on recording charge t1 time of measured capacitor from moment it is applied to it through resistor R of constant voltage E until it reaches measured capacitor Cx previously accepted threshold voltage value U0. By replacing measured capacitor Cx reference capacitor Co with known capacity, Charge time of sample capacitor t2 is measured, without changing resistor value R, charging source E voltage and previously received voltage threshold value U0 on capacitor. Measured capacitance is calculated by formula: where Co - capacitance of sample capacitor; t1 - charge time of capacitor with measurable capacitance Cx to previously accepted threshold voltage value on its plates; t2 - charge time of capacitor Co to previously accepted threshold voltage value on its plates.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing measurement accuracy of electrical capacity.
