SUBSTANCE: invention relates to trunk pipeline transport and can be used for trenching a pipeline in a protective casing using welded pipe joints. Device for connecting pipes of a protective casing and the working pipeline placed therein comprises mouthpieces with metal cuffs mounted on the protective casing, and the method includes mounting on the berm next to a prepared trench lengths of pipes of the protective casing and working pipeline, placing the working pipeline in the protective casing, moving the assembled structure into the trench, welding the working pipeline, pressing the mouthpiece of the protective sleeve onto the metal cuff of the previous protective casing with a detachable mounting device, welding the pressed mouthpiece with the metal cuff.
EFFECT: invention improves connection reliability.
