FIELD: mining; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mineral processing and can be used to enrich ores of non-ferrous and ferrous metals in air, as well as in separation of small granular materials in other industries. Cylindrical classification shaft of an air classifier is equipped with a loading unit and fractionation units arranged consecutively one after another depending on the number of fractions. In the loading unit, the conical distributor is installed between the raw material feed nozzle and the air supply pipe. Unit for fractionation of the raw material is made in the form of a chamber, inside which is a hollow spiral-shaped air flow swirler with a cone angle of 30–35° with the possibility of changing its geometric dimensions and equipped with a diffuser from below, and on top with a confuser. In the loading unit and the fractionation units in the upper part there are distributors with tangentially installed air supply pipes. Hollow spiral-shaped swirler of the airflow is filled with liquid and connected to a manometer by a pipeline. Conical distributor of the raw material is configured to adjust the clearance between the feed inlet and the air supply pipe.
EFFECT: high efficiency of separation of the starting material into a given number of fractions.
