FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: layered material contains no more than 5 wt % of resin and at least one layer of unidirectional tape produced from a variety of raw fibrous materials formed from a gel-shaped fibrous yarn based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. The resin is applied to at least one side of the unidirectional tape layer and is exposed to heat and pressure to harden the multiple layers of unidirectional tape. At least some of the plurality of the stacked layers are at an angle to each other.
EFFECT: resulting laminate is characterized by a yield strength of more than 55 MPa of the test specimen approximately 12,7 mm wide, about 7,88 mm deep and having an interval of approximately 12,19 cm between supports when tested for a three-point bend according to ASTM D790.
