FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer composition and pipes made from it. Composition comprises greater than 80 percent by weight of units derived from ethylene and 20 percent or less by weight of units derived from one or more alpha-olefin co-monomers. Wherein ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer has a density in the range of from 0.925 to 0.935 g/cm3, a melt index I2 in the range of from 0.3 to 1.0 g / 10 minutes, melt flow ratio I10/I2 in the range of from 7.9 to 11, a melt strength in the range of from 3 to 10 cN. In addition, the ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer is characterized by a DSC heat curve, having a melting peak temperature in the range of from 120 to 130 °C, a crystallinity in the range of from 50 to 70 percent, a 1 % flexural modulus in the range from 350 to 600 MPa, and a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range of from 2 to 10.
EFFECT: produced composition is intended for manufacturing pipes that are resistant to centrifugal tensile stress and to slow crack growth while providing improved flexibility, thus facilitating the accelerated installation of such pipes.
