FIELD: measuring equipment; radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio measurements and makes it possible to measure the time shifts arising between pulse sequences with equal or slightly divergent pulse repetition periods, for example between the original sequence and the delayed one. An estimate of the time shift is obtained by forming and measuring a time interval equal to the measured time shift, whose boundaries are determined by the position of the leading edges of the pulses, the relative time shift of which is estimated. Before the formation of the above-mentioned time interval, the pulse repetition period T is measured, then the pulses are expanded to a value not exceeding the measured period T, after which the time interval between the leading edges of the extended pulses is formed by performing the logical operation "ambiguity".
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of accuracy of measurements.
