FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to connections of main pipelines. Pipeline connection unit serves to disconnect one pipeline into two: main and parallel backup pipelines of the same diameter D with shut-off valves, and for connecting two pipelines into one. Pipeline connection unit comprises a cover with a top bearing assembly and a housing with a lower bearing assembly and three nozzles of the same diameter D, one of which is coaxial with the main pipeline, and the other two branches lie at an angle symmetrically to each other relative to the axis of the main pipeline. Between the housing and the cover there is a cavity formed by two taps of diameter D, bending radius R, determined by the requirements for passage of in-pipe cleaning and diagnostic tools, and a sphere, in which a swivel is deployed in the said supports, the flow part of which is also a tap with diameter D, bending radius R, and flow channels serving for non-stop switching of the pipelines. Axes of the taps are a continuation of the axes of the branch pipes. Swivel axis is perpendicular to the plane of the branch pipes and intersects with the axis of the main pipeline. Pipelines are switched by turning the swivel by means of a drive.
