FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method includes an end milling cutter, the diameter of which is chosen according to the mentioned dependence less than the width of the gutter. First, the gutter is milled in a direction from one side to the other, after that the milling cutter is installed parallel to the side surface of the detail with a displacement relative to the axis of symmetry of the gutter, and conduct a cut-down milling on the pass of the gutter side. When milling a gutter from one side to another, the milling cutter is mounted perpendicular to the side surface of the detail and conduct a cot-down milling by the cylindrical part of the milling cutter along the gutter contour, ensuring a minimum working overhang of the cutter.
EFFECT: machining quality and the durability of the milling cutter are increased due to the use of cut-down milling, reduction of the size of the removed allowance and application of a milling cutter of the maximum diameter with observance of the conditions of the minimum tool overhang.
