FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: liquid or gas flows of the main pipeline, in which the pressure pulses operate, are divided into parts and the diverted parts are inserted through expansion chambers into the damping chamber, in which the flows are directed oppositely to the liquid or gas located in the chamber, so that the pressure pulses change their density and pressure due to potential energy of the pulses and simultaneously twist the flows in opposite directions reducing the liquid or gas velocity due to kinetic energy of the interacting opposing flows. The device consists of a cylindrical body covering a pipeline section with a central damping chamber restricted by two transverse partitions with through holes and two expansion chambers formed by said transverse partitions and end bottoms and connected to main pipeline section by radial holes of the same diameter and amount. At that, the through holes in the transverse partitions are made in the form of jet channels, so that their axes are located at angles α to the longitudinal andβ to the radial axes of the central pipeline section and form counter flows of liquid or gas rotating towards each other in the damping chamber.
EFFECT: simplified design and reduced size.
