DEVICE FOR CONVERTING A MOVEMENT OF A USER INTO A VOLTAGE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H02N2/18 H01L41/113 G08B21/04

Abstract RU 2645876 C2

FIELD: electrical devices.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the means of monitoring of the state of a user by converting a user's movement into an electrical voltage. Device (10) and method for converting a user's movement into an electrical voltage, device (90), system (100) and method for monitoring a user, drop sensor comprising a user monitoring device (90) and method for detecting a potential drop. Device (10) for converting a movement of a user into a voltage comprises neck cord (20), piezoelectric sensor (30) and printed circuit board (40). Neck cord is coupled to the piezoelectric sensor and provides in use a pulling force that acts on the piezoelectric sensor in a first direction. Printed circuit board is electrically and mechanically coupled to the piezoelectric sensor. Weight of the printed circuit board cause in use a gravity force to act on the piezoelectric sensor in a second direction, which differs from the first direction such that the movement of user (5) wearing the neck cord causes a change in the shape of the piezoelectric sensor which in response thereto generates the voltage. Such voltage may be used as a supply source for electrical component (41) mounted on the PCB, or may be used as a wake-up signal for an electrical component such as processor (41) or accelerometer.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the reliability of monitoring of the state of the user when using a wearable device that converts the movement of the user who carries this device into electrical voltage.
