FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rail vehicles, in particular to freight cars. Gondola car with a reduced aerodynamic resistance includes a body with an outer frame in the form of upper (4) and lower trim, side posts (6) of the side walls, as well as pivot and transverse (13) beams on the bottom. Bulwark (2) has a width equal to the height of side rails (6), between side posts (6), a bent or rolled corner (10) is rigidly fixed to their lower end, the vertical shelf of which is bordered by the lower edge of bulwark (2), and bottom panels (3) are rigidly fixed to the bottom flanges of transverse (13) beams of the bottom of the body, made of a thin, corrugated material with corrugations, parallel to the longitudinal axis of the car, whole or assembled from several elements. Width of each bottom panel (3) is equal to the length of the transverse beams, and the length is the distance between the pivot beams.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in aerodynamic resistance and allows, without increasing the energy intensity of transportation, to increase about 1 5/10 times the speed of transportation of wagons without the risk of entering an uncontrolled mode of auto-oscillations with the possibility of accidents.
