FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytically decomposable synthetic material, in particular a cellulose ester, as well as to its use, in particular, in filter media tapes for producing filter cartridges for filter cigarettes. Catalytically decomposable synthetic material, in particular a photocatalytically decomposable synthetic material, wherein the catalytically decomposable synthetic material comprises catalytically active titanium dioxide modified by the addition of iron, wherein the BET specific surface of the iron-modified titanium dioxide exceeds 100 m2/g.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the development of an additional synthetic material that is catalytically decomposable under ambient conditions, wherein the catalytically decomposable synthetic material can be advantageously used in the form of moulded articles, in particular in a filter media strip for producing filter cartridges for filter cigarettes.
