FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: coating composition with one binder contains a photocatalytically active agent with considerable light absorption at least one absorption wavelength ranging from 380 nm to 500 nm. The photocatalytically active agent contains TiO2 with dopants, specifically carbon and/or sulphur. The ratio of optical density (Kubelka-Munk function F(R∞)) of the photocatalytically active agent to optical density of (Kubelka-Munk function F(R∞)) of the binder at absorption wavelength ranging from 380 nm to 500 nm is greater than 6.25×10-3, preferably greater than 1×10-2. The coating composition also contains binder which has optical density (Kubelka-Munk function F(R∞)) less than 0.8, specifically less than 0.5 at one absorption wavelength ranging from 380 to 500 nm, specifically from 400 to 450 nm, and the photocatalytically active agent has optical density (Kubelka-Munk function F(R∞)) greater than 0.005, specifically greater than 0.01, specially preferable 0.02 or greater in measuring conditions at the same wavelength. A method is also described for obtaining said composition, as well as its use.
EFFECT: reduced growth of algae and fungi when using the coating composition.
