FIELD: hygiene.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns an extensible dentifrice article and a method with use thereof. Proposed extensible dentifrice comprises: a) backing layer in the form of a film with an elastic-like structure (SELF) having an average thickness of 0.1 mil (2.54 mcm) to 5.0 mil (127 mcm), wherein the film comprises: i. polyethylene of high density in an amount from 50 to 90 % by weight of the film; and ii. linear low density polyethylene in an amount of 10 to 50 % by weight of the film; and b) disposed on the film oral care composition. At that, the oral care composition comprises: i) adhesive polymer in an amount of 50 to 99.9 % by weight of the composition; and ii) active oral care substance in an amount of 0.1 to 50 % by weight of the composition. At that, SELF base layer includes a stretching mesh comprising a first region and a second region made essentially of a material of the same composition, wherein the first region provides a first similar elastic opposing force with respect to the applied axial extension force, and second region containing a plurality of raised fin-shaped members provides a second characteristic opposing force with respect to the applied additional axial extension force, during using thus ensuring at least two levels of opposing forces. At that, Poisson transverse narrowing effect is less than 0.8 when the SELF web is subjected to elongation by 25 %, or less than 1.0, when the SELF web is subjected to elongation by 50 or even 100 %. Use of the product with the above-described base layer provides uniform deformation of the article during stretching, without significant effect of transverse narrowing. Method of delivering an active substance for oral care to a plurality of adjacent teeth is also provided, comprising the steps, at which: a) aforementioned extensible dentifrice is provided; b) adjusting the size of said extensible dentifrice article to a sufficient size to allow individual matching to plurality of adjacent teeth of the user when positioned on the teeth; c) applying said extensible dentifrice to plurality of adjacent teeth.

EFFECT: extensible dentifrice is proposed.
