FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing cathode material based on metal of the platinum group and barium comprises obtaining intermetallic compound of platinum group with barium by melting, its grinding in the inert-gas atmosphere or CO2, mixing the received powder of intermetallic compound with powder of the platinum group metal, included in the mentioned intermetallic compound, in the amount necessary to obtain material with a given composition, compacting, sintering or melting in argon atmosphere. Before pressing, the obtained powder mixture is mechanically activated for 5-15 minutes.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the coefficient of secondary electron emission of alloys and, as a result, increase the yield of good devices.
