FIELD: construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for producing an insulation and drainage sheet with use of foamable and/or prefoamed polystyrene beads and an organic binder. According to the invention, the foamable and/or prefoamed polystyrene beads are coated with the organic binder, charged to a mould and subjected to a final foaming process, wherein a pulverulent organic binder is used here for the coating of the foamable and/or prefoamed polystyrene beads, which is activated by introducing moisture and/or heat, so as to form, a binder film that at least to some extent coats the polystyrene beads and that reduces the expansion of the polystyrene beads during the final foaming process. In addition, the invention relates to an insulation and drainage sheet made in this manner, which has good thermal insulation characteristics and sufficient mechanical strength.
