SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power supply for electric networks contacting with current collectors of vehicles. Method of partially non-selective protection of an AC traction network is that the absence of a short circuit in the accidentally disconnected contact network is verified by means of a short-circuit monitoring device for induced voltage, and in the absence of a short circuit, a command is given to turn on the emergency-off supply line with a minimum time delay by automatic restart. Traction AC network contains a post-section with circuit breakers, voltage and current transformers for each supply line of the contact network and intelligent terminals with a protection device and automatic re-activation of the emergency power supply line of the contact network of the partitioning station. And the basic protections are carried out with zero time delay.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in a significant reduction of the voltage recovery time in the contact network in emergency situations.
