FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Method for burning metal M, which is selected from alkaline, alkaline-earth metals, aluminum and zinc, as well as their alloys and/or mixtures, using combustible gas, burning is carried out by using a porous burner that includes a porous tube as a burner. Metal M in liquid form is fed to the porous burner inside the porous burner. Combustible gas is directed to the porous burner surface and burned with metal M. They are also burned at a temperature that is above the melting point of salts formed by reaction of metal M and combustible gas. Metal M is feed as an alloy of at least two metals M. Reaction products after burning are separated by a cyclone.

EFFECT: invention allows to efficiently separate solid and/or liquid reaction products when burning a metal and to control burning a metal using a combustible gas.
