ADAPTIVE STRAP DOWN INERTIAL ATTITUDE-AND-HEADING REFERENCE SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G01C21/00

Abstract RU 2647205 C2

FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises the three-component angular rate sensor unit, the three-component linear acceleration sensor unit, the course corrector, the computing unit, the direction cosine matrix forming unit, the Kalman filter and the measurement function forming unit. The optimizer, the quaternions forming unit, the systemic error matrix forming unit, the air data system and the differentiating unit are connected in a specific way and additionally introduced into the device. As the result, there is the possibility to apply the angular rate sensors and the linear acceleration sensors of a medium and low accuracy including the sensors of a micromechanical type by virtue of the fact that the errors do not accumulate because of the continuous correction. The device eliminates the requirement for the initial alignment, has the ability to self-exhibit within several seconds and can be used in all known aircraft types.

EFFECT: attitude-and-heading reference system accuracy increase by means of the supplying the continuous pitch angle and bank angle correction, in particular within the conditions of the aircraft maneuvering in flight.
