FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods of controlling the characteristics of powder scintillators and luminophores produced by one of the known methods, for example, by the methods of co-deposition, solid-phase synthesis, etc., and used as an independent material. The method for controlling the yield of scintillations and photoluminescence of powder scintillators and luminophores contains the stages in which excitation of scintillations is produced by irradiating the surface of the sample with alpha radiation. The photons of scintillations arising under the action of alpha particles are detected by the optoelectronic system from the surface of powder scintillators and luminophores irradiated with alpha particles.
EFFECT: simplification of sample preparation, increase of productivity and increase of accuracy of measurements.
