FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the production of steel in a converter. Method includes loading of scrap and semi-product containing iron oxides, hot-metal charging, refining of smelting and slag-forming entering. Semi-product is used in the form of compact blanks obtained by fusing in the furnace components of a mechanical mixture consisting of beneficated ore with an iron content of at least 60 % and scrap metal, the mass fraction of iron oxides in which is 10–70 %, and the subsequent casting of the alloy into molds. Invention makes it possible to reduce the chemical inhomogeneity by removing impurities in the fusion step of its components and provides the lowest dissociation coefficient, equal to 8 to achieve the best conditions for the dissociation of iron oxides in the process of steelmaking. In addition, replacing a portion of lightweight scrap metal with a compact blank will reduce the duration of the process of charging of furnace and the consumption of scrap metal, as well as improve the quality of the steel to be melted and reduce its cost.
EFFECT: replacement of a portion of lightweight scrap metal with a compact blank will allow to reduce the duration of the process of charging of furnace and the consumption of scrap metal, and also to improve the quality of the steel to be melted and to reduce its cost.
