FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: air pressure inside the body (3) of the space vehicle is created. Presence of local leakage is judged using sensitive medium. For this purpose, from source (2) with given pitch along the surface of the space vehicle body (3), indicator discrete porous particles (1) which change their paths under the action of gas flow (5) from the leak are launched. The deviation of indicator particles of impact point locations is measured (1) against a sensitive screen-target (4) installed at a given angle for their reflection into a trap (6). The sensitivity of the measurements is adjusted by changing the initial velocities of the indicator particles (1) and the distance between the source (2) initiating the indicator particles (1) and the screen-target (4) and by selecting porosity and true density of the indicator particles (1).
EFFECT: reduced sensitivity threshold, increased accuracy for determination of local tightness parameters under vacuum conditions, reduced time of leak location search, simplified diagnostics.
