in which each of the R₁ and R₂ independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group with linear or branched chain having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R₃ represents a hydrogen atom or a group when combined with R₂ forming a methylenedioxy group; each of R₄ and R₅ represents a hydrogen atom, or form a methylenedioxy group when connected to each other by R₄ and R₅; R₆ represents a hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group or an alkoxy group with linear or branched chain having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, acyloxy group with a linear or branched chain containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a saccharous residue, which is (D-apio-β-D-furanosyl)oxy; and the saccharous residue hydroxyl group can form an ester with a carboxylic acid, as an active ingredient of the epidermal keratinization promoter, skin moisturizing function improver, skin barrier function improver, skin roughness prevention and reduction means.
