FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nozzles and can be used in spray guns, spray gun platforms and spray head assemblies. Nozzle comprises a fluid outlet extending along a fluid axis and made in the form of a fluid aperture, formed by the fluid side wall, an atomising aperture adjacent the fluid side wall and at least partially surrounding the fluid axis, an atomising inlet configured to receive a pressurised gas, and a pressure cap having a side wall. Atomising aperture is formed between the fluid side wall and the pressure cap side wall, configured to direct air flowing through the atomising inlet to opposite sides of the fluid stream ejected from the nozzle. Furthermore, the nozzle includes an adjustment member mechanically coupled to the pressure cap and movable to an atomising position so that the atomising inlet is coupled with the atomising aperture and into a non-atomising position, so that the atomising inlet is not coupled with the atomising aperture. Pressure cap further comprises a pair of pressure tubes projecting outward from the side wall of the pressure cap and in the pair of pressure tubes there are corresponding apertures coupled with the atomising inlet, when the adjustment member is in the atomising position. Nozzle also comprises a base member, or the adjustment member comprises a protrusion combined with a reciprocal pressure aperture, located on the opposite adjustment member or base member, respectively, as the adjustment member moves to the non-atomising position. Method of adjusting a dispensing mode for a spray gun, the spray gun comprising a spray with a nozzle having a base member connected to the spray gun platform, includes moving an adjustment member located on the nozzle, between an atomising position, when the atomising aperture is connected to a source of pressurised gas, so that fluid is sprayed from the fluid aperture, and a non-atomising position, when the atomising aperture is connected to a source of pressurised gas, so that fluid is forced from the fluid aperture. Spray gun system comprises a spray gun platform and a set of nozzles designed for modular connection to the spray gun platform.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is enabling dispensing of coating material both in the form of a spray and in the form of drops, easier cleaning, excellent spraying performance and compatibility with existing spray gun designs.
