FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a standing wheelchair and is aimed at improving the safety of surmounting surface undulations by a user in any position while on a wheelchair. Wheelchair comprises a wheeled base, a sensor for determining the current inclination of the platform, a controller, a fastening assembly and a lifting device. Wheeled base comprises a platform mounted with possibility of tilting with respect to a chassis to which the wheels of the wheeled base are connected. Controller is configured to automatically generate a control signal for controlling motor operation while enabling adjustment of the platform in at least two directions in accordance with the determined value of the current inclination in order to thereby maintain the given inclination of the platform with respect to the horizontal. Fastening assembly can be tilted together with the platform and comprises a plurality of fasteners for attachment to body parts of the wheelchair user. At least some adjacent fasteners are connected by hinges. Lifting device is mounted on the base and supports the hip joint of the fastening assembly and is configured to raise or lower the hip joint such that, when the user is locked and is in a sitting position, lifting the hip joint causes the user to stand, and when the user is locked in the fastening assembly and is in a standing position, lowering the hip joint causes the user to sit or lie down.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving safety of surmounting surface undulations by a user in any position while on a wheelchair.
