FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engine building, namely to methods of reversing engines with an external combustion chamber. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that for reversing the rotation of the power takeoff shaft of a two-stroke engine with an external combustion chamber in a given direction, the control system stops supplying fuel to the external combustion chamber. When the engine coasts out at the point in time when the pistons and the crank-rod mechanism of the power take-off shaft are in position, in which, when the combustion products are fed from the outer combustion chamber into the power piston cavity of the power piston, the power takeoff shaft is rotated in a predetermined direction, injector control system supplies fuel to the external combustion chamber and ignites it with a spark plug. Simultaneously, the control system opens the intake valve and closes the exhaust valve. As a result, the power piston starts to move to the lower extreme point of the motion and rotates the power take-off shaft in the desired direction.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of the reversal process.
