SUBSTANCE: invention relates to friction materials for operation in brake devices. Iron-based friction material contains 17.0–20.0 % by weight of copper, 4.0–5.0 % by weight of carbon, 2.0–4.0 % by weight of silica, 5.5–6.5 % by weight of barium sulphate, 0.2–0.4 % by weight of tungsten, 6.0–8.0 nickel, and the balance is iron.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance of the friction material.
