FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for plasma cutting of workpieces. For cutting, a plasma torch is used, comprising at least a burner body, an electrode, and a nozzle. In the process of cutting, the plasma jet is tilted or deflected, at least before cutting along the edge of the workpiece, at an angle δ with respect to the axis situated perpendicularly to the surface of the workpiece, so that the exit position of the plasma jet from the workpiece is arranged at a distance in the feed movement, which is not more than half the value settled in the case when the plasma jet falls perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece.
EFFECT: surface quality of a workpiece in plasma cutting, not requiring any additional processing, is assured.
