SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to software control systems. Device for protecting the control signal has a first operating mode and a second operating mode and comprises a first terminal pair, a second terminal pair, element for temporary accumulation of electric power and a switching circuit for controlling the operating mode of the device for protecting the control signal. First terminal pair connects said device to protect the control signal with a control system that provides a control signal. Second terminal pair connects the inverter to the peripheral device. In the first mode of operation, the electrical energy is stored in the energy storage element. In the second operating mode, the electrical energy stored in the energy storage element is supplied to the positive terminal of the second terminal pair. Also, method for protecting a control signal and a control system for controlling a peripheral device in a process control system are claimed.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the reliability of the process control system.
