FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of desalination of sea water. Method of operating a steam compressor in which saturated steam with a pressure of 0.016–0.02 MPa is successively thermally compressed in at least two steam containers to a pressure of 0.03–0.032 MPa by electric heating, and the compressed steam is supplied to the first stage of a multi-stage desalination plant, when the steam pressure in the tanks drops to 0.03 MPa, it is stopped feeding to the first stage of the desalination plant, steam is withdrawn from the tanks and its heat is used to heat seawater. Cooled steam is mixed with low pressure steam from the last stage of the desalination plant and a mixture of steam is fed to the next steam capacity of the steam compressor and the same processes as in the first steam tank are performed. Operation stages of the steam compressor are controlled in accordance with the varying vapor pressures in the steam containers. Device of the steam compressor is also declared.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of the plant's working processes.
