SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to veterinary medicine, to industrial livestock and to prevention of ancestral and postnatal pathology in highly productive cows. Method of prophylaxis of the birth and postnatal pathology in pregnant cows and nonmilking cows includes the introduction into diet of the mineral fodder additive "BSH-WIT" of the composition, mass%: Al₂O₃ – 20–30; SiO₂ – 20–25; Fe₂O₃ –10–15; CaO – 8–12; Na₂O – 12–15; SO₃ – 3–5; K₂O – 0.3–0.5; KJ – 0.2. In this case, the supplement is added for 30 days for precalving period to 150 g per head for one dose during 15 days.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to correct the balance of microelements in animals and provides an increase in the yield of calves due to reduction of infertility days without large material costs and changes in technology of feeding and keeping cows.
