SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation and telemechanics. In the method, a collective portable siren is installed in each area of works, each area number is entered into the controller of each collective portable siren and the coordinates of the zone are set using the navigation receiver of the collective portable siren connected to the GLONASS / GPS network, in the absence of a rolling stock, the collective portable siren transceiver receives control signals from the stationary notification station, and the navigation receiver of the collective portable siren receives navigation signals from the GLONASS / GPS network, the coordinates received from the network are compared with those set in the collective portable siren for the given zone, if they are the same and if all collective portable siren nodes are in good order, the handshake signals are generated in the collective portable siren controller and transmitted by the transceiver to the stationary notification station, if the station system detects a rolling stock approaching the area of works, a command to activate the alert is sent through the stationary notification station to the collective portable siren, the alert is being repeated until the collective portable siren receives a signal from the free zone through the station system that the zone is safe.
EFFECT: improved reliability of alerting workers on railway tracks is achieved.
