FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical technology of inorganic substances, particularly to a process for producing hydrogen peroxide, comprising oxidizing isopropanol with an oxygen-containing gas. Process for producing hydrogen peroxide includes the steps of catalytic hydrogenation of acetone and oxidation of isopropanol. In the presence of a nickel-copper chromite catalyst, the hydrogenation of acetone with hydrogen is carried out in a molar ratio (3.5–5):1 at a temperature of 70–120 °C, at atmospheric pressure, contact loading for acetone 0.6–1.0 h-1, then excess hydrogen is separated from the resulting mixture, which is recycled to the hydrogenation step, the obtained isopropanol is transferred to the liquid-phase oxidation step with an oxygen-air mixture containing 35–40 vol% oxygen at a temperature of 110–140 °C with the release of hydrogen peroxide. Unreacted isopropanol and acetone are recycled after separation: isopropanol to the oxidation stage, and acetone to the hydrogenation stage.
EFFECT: technical result is that it is possible to significantly reduce the volumes of the initial acetone and feed the feedstock in an amount practically equal to the technological losses during the process; while the desired product of high purity is formed, which reduces the need for a multi-stage, cumbersome stage of hydrogen peroxide release.
