FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tires for vehicle wheels, in particular, tires with high and ultra-high performance characteristics along with a process for the manufacturing thereof. Tyre for vehicle wheels wherein at least one component of said tyre comprises a vulcanised elastomeric composition obtained by vulcanising a vulcanisable elastomeric composition comprising at least one elastomeric polymer P1, at least one reinforcement filler a) at least one vulcanizing agent b) and at least one co-vulcanising composition c) obtained by mixing c1) at least one elastomeric polymer P2, c2) at least one zinc complex obtained by interaction between c3) from 20 to 80 phr with respect to 100 phr P2 of at least one zinc compound, and c4) from 20 to 80 phr with respect to 100 phr P2 of at least one lower (di)thiodicarboxylic acid of formula (I) HOOC-CHR-CHR1-S(n)-CHR2-CHR3-COOH (I), wherein n represents an integer number selected from 1 and 2; R, R1, R2, R3, equal or different from each other, are selected from H, CH3 and C2H5. These tires contain one or more components with high rigidity and exhibit particularly high performance characteristics in "behavior" on the roads.

EFFECT: due to the use of certain stabilized co-vulcanizing compositions in mixtures of such components, it became possible to increase the rigidity of these components and simultaneous prevention of the release of irritating by-products during manufacture, in particular during the calendering phase of mixtures intended to form rubber cords.
