FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and system for providing a hardware security module as a service. Method is proposed in which, under the control of computing systems configured using executable instructions, receive, through the interface of computing systems, from the consumer device remote from computer systems, a request for adding a hardware SM to the network; choose the hardware SM from the set of available hardware security modules located at the supplier of the computing resource and local for the computer systems and ensuring the execution of the request; select the selected hardware SM for exclusive use by the consumer device and re-configure the set of computational resources of the computing systems in such a way, that said network has a network interface to a service network of computing systems connecting said network interface and a hardware SM, and that network traffic addressed to the specified network interface is routed through the specified service network to the selected hardware security module.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide a hardware security module (SM) as a service.
