FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry of organic compounds. Method for determining the concentration of naphthalene vapors in a gaseous mixture of aromatic compounds is, that a material containing fluorophore dibenzoylmethanate boron difluoride (DBMBF2) or its methyl-, or methoxy-, or dimethyl-, or a dimethoxy or methyl methoxy derivative, molecules of which are surrounded by chains of polydimethylsiloxane or alkyl groups, is placed in a gas mixture. Material is irradiated with light in the wavelength range 355-400 nm and the fluorescence intensity of the material is measured on at least one spectral channel in the wavelength range 400-550 nm. Then the relative intensities of the spectra of the fluorophore and its exciplex with naphthalene are calculated from the measured values, and the concentration of naphthalene is calculated from the obtained intensities.

EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of selective continuous measurement of naphthalene in a wide range of concentrations, which is carried out using a miniature sensor.
