Disinfecting agent contains a strain of Willaertia magna, deposited with the number PTA 7824 in the ATCC, or a strain of Willaertia magna, deposited with the number PTA 7825 in the ATCC, in the form of an aqueous solution or suspension used as a biocidal agent against Naegleria fowleri to treat a gas or liquid stream or a solid surface.

EFFECT: inventions provide control over the proliferation and contamination of Naegleria fowleri.
