SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of control of metal-cutting machines, in particular, with an automatic feed rate box comprising electromagnetic and brake couplings of a driving feed along the horizontal axis OX and a follow-up feed along the vertical axis OZ. method includes task of the theoretical surface profile of the workpiece, generation of control pulses of the follow-up feed along the vertical OZ axes, arriving at the relevant electromagnetic coupling, and formation of a DC driving feed control voltage along the horizontal axis OX, also coming to the relevant electromagnetic opening, with the realization of the controlled movement of the tool along the surface of the workpiece.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows to improve the quality of the machined surface and the geometric accuracy of the part.
