FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises generation of control signals to be fed to lathe feed automatic gearbox electromagnetic clutches. In compliance with proposed method profile of machined part is represented by digital model composed of coordinates of multiple elementary segments to be loaded into digital control system (DCS) memory. Deviation of lathe tool actual position from initial theoretical profile is defined in machining by DCS. Subject to defined deviation, feed direction and angle of current profile elementary segment inclination, control signals are generated and fed to feed servo drive electromagnetic clutches. Said signals switch over gearbox reduction gear to allows automatic tracing of lathe tool path relative to the position of every elementary segment line. Note here that selection of primary and servo feeds are defined automatically subject to inclination angle of every elementary segment. Note also that servo feed IN and OUT intervals as well as its operating frequency are defined by enclosed formulae. Servo feed IN and OUT moments are defined depending upon machined surface quality, preset range of design values of aforesaid deviations and tracing zone width.
EFFECT: higher versatility, expanded operating performances.
