FIELD: fat and oil industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of preparation of high index components of base oils corresponding to group II+ and III by API. Method of preparation of a high index component of II+ and III group base oils according to the API by catalytic hydrocracking of petroleum feed at a pressure of not less than 13.5 MPa, a temperature of 380 to 430 °C, a volumetric feed rate of 0.5 to 1.5 h-1 with a degree of conversion of at least 75 % to produce an unconverted hydrocracking residue containing at least 90 % by weight of saturated hydrocarbons, including isoparaffinic hydrocarbons not less than 30 % by weight, which is subjected to successive: hydrotreating, catalytic dewaxing, hydrofinishing, rectification and vacuum distillation, and as raw materials of hydrocracking along with the raw material – vacuum gas oil and the product of recycling – the gas oil of coking uses by-products of the process of selective purification – residual extract in an amount from 4 to 6 % by weight and dewaxing – petrolatum – from 1 to 3 % by weight, which allows to increase the end-boiling temperature of the mixture hydrocracking feedstock to 586 °C; the required quality of the high-index component of base oils is achieved at a hydroprocessing pressure of less than 6.0 MPa.

EFFECT: obtaining a high-index component of base oils from the unconverted hydrocracking residue that meets the API II and III oils, with a hydroprocessing pressure of less than 6 MPa, which provides an improvement in the performance characteristics of commercial oils, which is not achieved either by the use of new multifunctional additives, nor by the thickening of oils.
