FIELD: sampling devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates operation of sampling devices for assessing the degree of pollution of natural reservoirs by petroleum products. Device comprises two parts: a positive buoyancy cutter with a detachable plug in the head and a separatory funnel of considerable volume. Positive buoyancy of the cutter is provided with a float along the circumference of the cutter, which has a petal shape in section. Cutter plug comprises a swirler in the form of Archimedes screw to organize the spiral movement of the solvent from up to down and increase the degree of oil washout from the inside of the cutter. Solvent mixture is transferred to the separatory funnel with the cut off oil by creating a vacuum in the separatory funnel by using an AM-5 aspirator.
EFFECT: invention provides the increased accuracy of determining the thickness of the oil layer above the water due to a two-stage supply of the solvent into the oil layer above the water and hermetic transfer of their mixture into a separatory funnel.
