FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmic surgery, and can be used for anesthesia during phacoemulsification of cataracts. Method includes a 1.0 mm conjunctivotomy in the lower-inner quadrant of the eyeball and 1.5 ml of a solution of ropivacaine at a concentration of 7.5 mg/ml in the subtenon space. In addition, after carrying out the paracentesis of the cornea 1.0 mm in size, 0.3–0.5 ml of the same ropivacaine solution is injected into the anterior chamber.
EFFECT: method allows to achieve adequate anesthesia throughout the operation, to stimulate protective immune responses in the tissues of the eye, ensures prevention of postoperative inflammatory reactions in the eye, the achievement of rapid visual rehabilitation of patients.
