METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF THE RISK OF DEVELOPMENT OF POSTOPERATIVE INFLAMMATION FOLLOWING CATARACT PHACOEMULSIFICATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G01N33/53 A61B3/117

Abstract RU 2675690 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to predict the risk of developing postoperative inflammation following cataract phacoemulsification. In preparation for surgical treatment, three days before the operation, an additional diagnostic study of the protein composition of the patient's tear fluid is carried out. Content of alpha-2-macroglobulin and immunoglobulin G in the obtained sample is determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Calculate the coefficient by the formula: K = a2-MG (mg/l) × IgG (mg/l). When the value of the coefficient K>6.3, predict the risk of postoperative inflammation following cataract phacoemulsification as high, recommend additional treatment and postpone the date of surgical treatment. When the value of the coefficient K<6.3, predict the risk of developing postoperative inflammation as low, carry out surgical treatment without additional preoperative drug treatment.

EFFECT: method provides a timely forecast of postoperative inflammatory reaction in the eyeball following cataract phacoemulsification, preservation of the visual functions of patients, minimizing the timing of their visual rehabilitation by determining the content of alpha-2-macroglobulin and immunoglobulin G in a tear fluid sample using a non-traumatic, minimally invasive and highly specific method of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and calculating the prognostic significant factor K.
