FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, specifically to surgical instruments, in particular used to puncture focal formations of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space, puncture sanation and drainage of the cavity formations. Trocar-type medical drainage needle for ultrasound imaging comprises a tube with a central hole and an inner part of the needle with a sharp point. At the working end of the tube, there are side openings. Needle is made at least 150 mm long with an internal tube diameter of at least 3 mm. Side holes are four and are made end-to-end with a diameter of 1 mm each and are spaced at angles 90° along the circumference of the tube.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to perform diagnostic and therapeutic puncture interventions safely and accurately: needle sizes allow reaching even deep-lying liquid formations, quickly emptying them, side openings protect against suction and damaging of tissues and vessels, and also help to more efficiently remove thick contents.
