FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a filter cigarette which has a low amount of resin and to which menthol is added. Low-tar menthol cigarette has a tobacco rod portion and a filter portion wrapped with wrap paper, the cigarette having a resin amount of 5 mg or less, the filter portion comprising a single segment made of a cellulose acetate tow; resistance to tightening of the filter section is from 25 to 50 mm H2O/27 mm, and the ventilation ratio of airflow through the ventilation holes punched in the rim paper is 70 % or more; and menthol is added to the filter section.
EFFECT: preservation of menthol concentration in the smoke within the desired range.
