FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in forming a locking ridge on an outer peripheral surface of a joint portion. Locking ridge is formed using a process tool located inside a workpiece pipe and a process tool located outside said pipe, having a curvature. Locking ridge is obtained, the vertical wall portion of which extends upwardly at an angle of at least 65°, but not more than 90° relative to the outer peripheral surface in the direction of the pipe axis. Height of the locking ridge from said outer peripheral surface to the top of the upper portion is equal to at least the sum of the radii of curvature of the surfaces of the process tool placed in contact with said pipe.
EFFECT: high efficiency of preventing the disconnection of pipes.
